Chrisanthi Giotis

Chrisanthi Giotis, 35, was born and bred in Dulwich Hill. As a member of the Marrickville Youth Council, Chrisanthi helped lead the fight against the proposed closure of Marrickville and Dulwich High Schools, which resulted in both schools staying open. As a journalist, she has specialised in local council reporting. She also co-hosted a current affairs show for the Greek language program on SBS radio.

She is a former Marrickville Young Citizen of the Year, a recipient of the Premier’s Award for Active Citizenship and a Public Education Ambassador. Chrisanthi teaches communications at the University of Technology, Sydney, and recently completed her PhD on the reporting of refugee issues.
