Sam Iskandar


Sam Iskandar has served as a councillor on Marrickville Council since 1999. In that time, he has served three terms as Mayor and two terms as Deputy Mayor.

Sam is passionate about social justice and protecting the local environment. During his time on Council, Sam led community campaigns to prevent the closure of Marrickville and Dulwich High Schools. He also helped provide high-quality infrastructure projects, including new public parks, swimming pools, playgrounds, sporting facilities, and childcare and youth centres.

Sam has also been a strong advocate for the needs of local young people and has developed and implemented a number of programs to reduce violence, anti-social behaviour and the abuse of women and children.
